Hurricane Helene Relief Efforts

Over the past weekend, Hurricane Helene brought widespread devastation throughout Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas. The area hit the hardest is definitely Western North Carolina. With entire towns completely washed away, the damage and destruction is that of a biblical scale, the likes of which hasn’t been seen in almost a hundred years. Due to the nature of the destruction and damaged infrastructure, supplies reaching people in need is a challenge. Some parts of the state are currently only accessible by air. Operation Airdrop is an organization that has organized supply runs to Western North Carolina to bring much needed supplies and relief to those in need of help. If you’d like to learn how you can get involved and support the volunteers, you can visit https://www.operation-airdrop.com/hurricane-helene.

If you are local to the Greenville, SC area and would like to get involved locally with me, my flight school Greenville Aviation is working with Happy Helicopter Tours out of the Greenville Downtown Airport to run supply missions to Western North Carolina. You can drop off supplies and donations at the Runway Cafe: 21 Airport Rd Ext, Greenville, SC 29607. You can also donate financially to help cover aircraft expenses by using Venmo.
